Information

The shopping centre Chadstone in Melbourne has been extended by thousands of square metres of office and retailing space. seele realized design, fabrication panning and erection of a complex free-form steel-and-glass gridshell with a total area of 7,080sqm with spans of up to 44m. The steel-and-glass roof is made of 2,671 panes of ISO insulating glass with pane areas between 1.2 and almost 8sqm. 2,810 steel nodes hold the frame members with a total tonnage of approx. 500t together. © photos seele/Andreas Keller
